Building a Playground in 8 hours
Description:
More than 350 community volunteers created a playground in less than eight hours in honor of Cesar Chavez Day on Saturday, March 29. The playground was built at Hammond Park in Eureka, California. The city of Eureka and Eureka Adult School partnered with KaBOOM! and other community organizations to build a playground that was designed by the neighborhood children. Ten parks were built by KaBOOM! across the nation on the same Saturday in honor of migrant worker/organizer/leader Cesar Chavez.
